Product Introduction

Sacubitril and valsartan is a combination medication used to treat chronic heart failure in adults. It helps reduce the risk of hospitalization and death from worsening heart failure. The medication is available in tablet form and is typically taken twice daily.

Uses

• Chronic heart failure: Sacubitril and valsartan is primarily used to treat adults with chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). This condition occurs when the heart's pumping power is weakened, leading to fluid buildup in the lungs and other tissues.

How it Works

Sacubitril and valsartan is a combination of two medications:

• Sacubitril: This medication works by inhibiting neprilysin, an enzyme that breaks down several substances, including natriuretic peptides. Natriuretic peptides help relax blood vessels, reduce fluid retention, and improve heart function.
• Valsartan: This medication is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that constricts blood vessels and raises blood pressure.  

By working together, sacubitril and valsartan help improve heart function, reduce fluid retention, and lower blood pressure.

• Before taking sacubitril and valsartan, tell your doctor about all your medical conditions, including if you have:
